Bullying Survey Conclusion

Recently I have done a bullying survey.  I asked 5 simple questions; 1. I have been a victim of bullying at some time during this year. 2. I have bullied someone this school year. 3. I have witnessed someone else being bullied this year. 4.  What do witnesses or bystanders usually do when they see someone being bullied? 5. Bullying is a problem in our school.
My survey results were as followed: (out of 90)

   1. Agree: 25
      Disagree: 64

  2. Agree: 12
     Disagree: 78

3. Agree: 43
   Disagree: 47

4. Most people said Nothing.

5. Agree: 48
    Disagree: 42

These results were astonishing to me! Martin Luther King Jr. once said, " Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." This relates to my survey because for question number 4 almost everyone said nothing. People are choosing to be silent and to forget about it. If people choose to do this then bullying will keep doing it and many lives will be lost. I hope that after reading these astonishing results they will realize the importance of telling people to stop bullying and to make a difference!

Why study the Holocaust?

Many children, and some adults, don't understand the importance of learning about the Holocaust. I think it is very important to study it!
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." says George Santayana, philosopher and critic. This quote means that if you are choosing to not to learn or to not remember the past, especially the Holocaust, then you are going to repeat it. It is important to learn about the Holocaust because, according to this quote, it will happen again if we stop learning about it.
This has happened in other countries. For example, in Congo they are having there own holocaust. It has been going on for more than 6 years! They are forcing little boys to fight in wars (AVG: 8-10 years old). Many of them and there families have died in this war. 4 million people have died in the last 6 years and it is still going on. This sad event is almost unknown to some teens.
On the news now they are talking about the Micheal Jackson murder trial. I think that this event happening in Congo is WAY more important than that. I think that if this was on the news more often, teens and young adults would know more about it. They are the future in our world and we need to take advantage of that. If we know whats going on then we can help out in Congo and possibly change the world.
I encourage you readers to ponder this all this week and think about ways you can help the world and why we should remember the Holocaust. Remember, 1 million starts with 1!
